Thiruvananthapuram, July 12 (IANS) The Kerala Police Monday received an anonymous call warning that Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan would be assassinated before 11 a.m Tuesday, police sources said.
The call was received at the police control room around 4.50 p.m Monday. The caller was a man.
Police swung into action and traced the call to a mobile phone owned by a woman living in Malappuram district. A case has been registered.
Of late, Achuthanandan’s security has been beefed up since a man barged onto the stage at a function attended by the chief minister here last month.
