New Delhi, June 21 (IANS) The capital experienced another warm day Monday with the maximum temperature touching the 44 degree-mark, though the weatherman said there might be some respite for Delhiites as some parts of the capital may get rain late in the night.
‘The maximum temperature today (Monday) was 44.1 degrees Celsius which was five degrees above the average and the minimum was 31.1 degrees Celsius which is two notches above,’ an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here said.
‘There is possibility of rain towards the night, but the coming days will continue to be warmer,’ the official said.
The weather office predicted a clear sky Tuesday, with the maximum temperature at around 43 degrees Celsius and the minimum expected to settle at 30 degrees Celsius.
‘The weather is terrible coupled with erratic electricity supply and water shortage. We are praying for a brief spell of rain,’ Jasbir Singh, a salesman told IANS.
Doctors in the national capital informed that more patients were coming in with complaints of dehydration, heat stroke and stomach ailments.
