New Delhi, Oct 13 (IANS) As they prepare to return home after two exciting weeks, athletes and officials at the Commonwealth Games say they are overwhelmed by their India experience.
Many are contemplating revisiting the country for a variety of reasons — food, hospitality and, in some cases, the Indian beauty.
IANS spoke to some of the visitors:
Janet McKeough, medical personnel, Canada: India’s been great. Initially there were questions but in the end it has been good – everything from food, the Village, the venues and the tournaments. I’d like to bring my family here sometime to tour India.
Douglas Beckford, team official, Jamaica: I am quite happy with everything. All the venues are first class. The food, the hospitality are all very good. If life permits, I’ll definitely come back to India.
Jennifer Kamande, Kenya: ‘Everyone here is so friendly. I have been here before and Indian people are so welcoming. Everything was so nice here and there was no problem. The security, food, the Village, everything is so fine.
Uaine Fa, Tonga: Everything was awesome to be honest, starting from the hospitality to environment to entertainment. I loved it all. All the news spread earlier was exaggerated. I want to come back to India. The people here and their hospitality will definitely bring me back.
Musa Ngozo, Swaziland: I enjoyed my stay in India. Everything was quite well-prepared and planned. They even had African food here. Everything was sorted out. It was like a home away from home. Indians are so welcoming. I will miss India so much. I really wish to come back.
Jorge Luis Alfaro from Cuba (working in Malaysia): India was very nice. India was reported to have so many problems but here the picture was totally different.
Josh Green, Isle of Man: India has been absolutely fantastic. Our whole team has had no difficulty here. We have been so fine here. I’ve been here twice before but this has been the best experience. The welcome here is amazing. I’d like to certainly come back.
Bono McKay, Falkland Islands: This has been great. I want to come back for the food – and the women. Oh my, god, they are gorgeous. Sadly I couldn’t make any Indian girlfriend.
Manyo Mange, Ghana: My stay in India has been very good. Indians are so helpful. Their hospitality is amazing. Everything here was so comfortable right from the food to the stay to the way we were taken care of. I am very happy. I’d like to come back to India for holidays. Our team was so happy here they have been dancing every night.
Issey Norman, Guernsey: Before coming here we heard a lot of stuff on BBC. But India has been outstanding. We are thoroughly satisfied. It has been amazing. We’d like to come back and explore.
