New Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will send a delegation to Jammu and Kashmir’s Leh town Thursday to take stock of the relief work undertaken following the Aug 6 flash floods that claimed 183 lives and extensively damaged property.
According to a BJP release, the delegation comprises party spokesman Prakash Javadekar, MP from Kangra Rajan Sushant, former president of party’s Jammu and Kashmir unit Nirmal Singh and party legislator G.R. Bhagat.
The BJP had sent relief material to Leh following an assessment made by party spokesman Tarun Vijay who visited the town earlier.
Heavy rains and a cloudburst triggered flash floods in Leh town and surrounding areas claiming 183 lives.
