Chandigarh, July 9 (Inditop.com) There is good news for residents of Chandigarh and the neighbouring areas as the weatherman has forecast rain for the region Friday and with it a respite from the hot and humid conditions.
“The first week of July is the time when we expect good amount of rainfall but this year it has remained dry in most parts of Punjab and Haryana. The monsoon arrived full strength July 1 but became weak thereafter,” Chatar Singh Malik, director of the meteorological centre, told IANS Thursday.
“Now the monsoon is again picking up and we expect spells of moderate to heavy rainfall in most of the parts of the states from July 10. the mercury is also expected to dip in the region after the rainfall.”
There was moderate rainfall Thursday in places like Amritsar, Patiala, Moga and Pathankot, he said.
