New Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS) Chilly winds presented a nippy New Year’s eve in Delhi Friday, dipping the maximum day temperature below normal even as the sun shone bright. The weather office has predicted an even colder Saturday with below normal temperatures.

The maximum temperature was four notches below normal at 17.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum was four above average at 11 degrees, an India Meteorological Department official said.

The humidity levels wavered between a high of 98 percent and a low of 65 percent.

According to IMD, Saturday would witness similar whether conditions with fog in the morning but clear skies during the day.

‘The maximum and minimum temperatures tomorrow (Saturday) are expected to be at 17 and 7 degrees,’ the official said.

A railway official said that 15 trains were delayed and two rescheduled Friday due to the dense morning fog and also the Gujjar job agitation in Rajastan.

However, apart from some delays, flights operated normally as the visibility was good at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, said an airport official. There has been no diversions or cancellations.
