New Delhi, June 17 (IANS) A clerk in a government school has been arrested in north Delhi for posing as a police constable and carrying a fake identity card, police said Thursday.

Dalbir Singh, 28, who posed as a police constable, was carrying a fake police identity card when arrested Wednesday in Alipur area, police said.

He was caught while trying to avoid checking after violating traffic rules.

‘On interrogation, Singh disclosed that he used the fake police identity card to gain entry at certain VIP functions and to mislead parking lot attendants to save the parking fees,’ a police officer said.

Police recovered a fake police identity card and police file covers from his car. He also had a Delhi Police sticker pasted on his car.

Singh is working as a head clerk in a government-run school. He is a graduate from Delhi University.
