New Delhi, July 21 (IANS) Delhiites experienced a cloudy Wednesday and the maximum temperature remained two notches below average at 35 degrees Celsius as the weatherman predicted rains towards late night.

‘Sky will be cloudy with a few spells of rain and thundershowers expected later in the night,’ an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The minimum temperature was one notch below average at 26 degrees Celsius for this time of the season.

The maximum humidity level recorded was 92 percent.

According to the IMD, the maximum temperature Thursday is expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature is expected to be 26 degrees Celsius.

Heavy monsoon showers Tuesday resulted in water-logging and traffic jams all over the city. The effect was even visible Wednesday as the traffic police reported jams in some parts of the capital.

Delhi received 28.4 mm of rainfall Tuesday.
