New Delhi, June 21 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Monday asked Delhi University teachers to cooperate in the admission process and barred them from obstructing it in any manner.

The vacation bench of Justice A.K. Pathak, while issuing notice to Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA), said: ‘Keeping in mind the career of the large number of students, it is directed that the DUTA will cooperate in the admission process.’

The court also issued notice to DUTA on a petition filed by the university fearing that teachers won’t assist in the admission process.

‘DUTA will not obstruct the admission process in any manner,’ the court said while asking DUTA to file their reply by Aug 16.

University authorities and teachers have been engaged in a tussle over the past many months over the university’s hasty plans to implement the semester system.

The university petition had also sought a ban on all forms of protests by teachers.
