New Delhi, July 26 (IANS) The capital woke up to light drizzle Thursday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 27.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the average for the season. The weather office has forecast more rains later in the day.

“The sky will remain generally cloudy. Few spells of rain or thundershowers are expected later in the day,” said an official from India Meteorological Department (IMD).
“The maximum temperature would stay around 34 degrees Celsius,” the official added.
Even as the showers are expected to bring respite to the city, the weather would remain muggy, the weatherman said.
Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. stood at a whopping 85 percent.
According to IMD, the capital has recorded a total rainfall of 88.7 mm rainfall so far this season. The rain deficit has grown to 62 percent.
Monsoon is expected to last in Delhi till Sep 20.
Wednesday’s maximum and minimum temperature both stood a notch above average at 35 and 27.9 degrees Celsius respectively.
