New Delhi, April 9 (Inditop.com) With the funding scenario in India becoming more competitive, non-government organisations feel the need to focus on capacity-enhancement in resource mobilisation, communication, governance and financial management — a workshop was held here to help in this regard.
Organised by Resource Alliance, an NGO, the two-day workshop began Thursday.
“The funding scenario in India has become more competitive in the last few years and NGOs need to demonstrate their impact and effectiveness in order to attract funds. Hence, developing the capacity of civil society organisations has become extremely important,” an official of Resource Alliance said.
“The workshop focussed on stressing upon NGOs the role and importance of having a proper governing board and adopting good governance practices,” he said.
“Training on proposal writing skills was also imparted to various NGOs’ members who often lose out because of weak proposals,” the official added.
Similar workshops will be held in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhopal and Chennai.
