Lucknow, Oct 1 (IANS) As many as six bombs, 10 detonators and bundles of fuse wires were recovered from Maoist-hit Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh Saturday, police said.
The container bombs, detonators and two bundles of fuse wires were recovered from Pukhriya area during a combing operation by police, according to a statement issued here by the director general of police (DGP).
According to officials, preliminary investigations indicate the explosives were meant to target police teams undertaking anti-Maoist drives in the area.
‘The explosives found in the six steel and plastic containers – two of 25 kg, three of 6 kg and one of 12 kg capacity respectively – have been defused,’ said a senior police official in Sonbhadra, some 350 km from Lucknow.
