Jammu, Jan 5 (Inditop.com) The Vaishnodevi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, situated at a height of 1,700 metres, experienced this season’s first snowfall Monday night.
According to the met office, the shrine and its surrounding hills had about five cm of snowfall.
The rest of the Jammu region was shivering under an intense cold wave with temperature dipping to minus 4-5 degrees Celsius in Banihal to 6 degrees in the plains. A thick fog covered the region, resulting in the cancellation of early morning flights.
