New Delhi, May 28 (IANS) Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely Friday announced setting up of five more government schools in the capital for meritorious students.
Lovely said the government decided to open five more Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas in the next academic session, keeping in view their performance in board exams.
Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas impart quality education to students from Classes 6 to 12.
For admission to these schools, the minimum qualification marks are 60 percent, followed by an admission test. However, admission at the intermediate level is on the basis of marks.
The capital has 19 such schools at present.
Lovely said a scheme called ‘Rupantar-I’ has been launched in the capital, in which upgradation of 178 government schools will be completed in the next two months.
He said ‘Rupantar-II’ scheme will also be launched soon for the upgradation of another 56 schools.
