Agra, June 11 (IANS) Four people, among them two minors, drowned in the Yamuna where they had gone for a bath on Ganga Dashera, celebrated in a big way in the whole of Braj area to mark the descent of the river, revered by Hindus, to the earth.
Police said a 10-year-old boy drowned near Balkeshwar Ghat and another at the Dushera Ghat near the Taj Mahal. One man drowned near the Shani Dev temple in the Runukta area while a 22-year-old drowned at Poiya Ghat.
Police divers are still looking for two bodies, while the others have been recovered.
Thousands of people took a holy dip in the Yamuna on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dushera at various ghats in the city and offered water melons and sweets to the river.
