Shimla, July 7 (Inditop.com) The hills of Himachal Pradesh sizzled once again as there was little or no rainfall across the state in the past few days, weather officials here said Tuesday.

“There was a lull in the monsoon in most parts of the hill state in the past few days. The past two days saw rise in temperatures, which were three to four degrees Celsius above average across the state,” Shimla Meteorological Office director Manmohan Singh said.

While tourist town Shimla sizzled at 26.2 degrees Celsius Tuesday, Kalpa in Kinnaur district was hot at 26.7 degrees, Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district registered 24.7 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu district 36.1 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar in Mandi district 37.5 degrees Celsius and Una town recorded 40.6 degrees Celsius.

The southwest monsoon, which reached the state June 30, remained active only for two days and then there has been a dry spell in most parts of the state.

Singh said the monsoon would be strengthened in the state in the next few days.
