Bangalore, Feb 13 (IANS) India defeated Australia by 38 runs in their first practice match for the World Cup at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here Sunday.

Opting to bat first, India were all out for 214 in 44.3 overs after Virender Sehwag top scored with 54. Australia were bowled out for 176 in 37.5 overs with Piyush Chawla taking four for 31 and Harbhajan Singh bagging three for 15.
