New Delhi, Sep 27 (IANS) The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will deploy langoors at Commonwealth Games venues to control the monkey menace, an official said.

The NDMC has brought in 10 langoors to the existing 28 to chase away monkeys from near the Games venues, an official said.

‘The drive was made after we spotted lot of monkeys in the NDMC areas, especially near the Talkatora Indoor Stadium and the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Complex which will hold the swimming events,’ the official said.

He also said from Tuesday, they will increase the number of langoors from 28 to 38. The additional langoors will take care of the Games venues and other important areas where the monkeys are seen frequently.

Apart from the NDMC, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has also deployed a special team that has been making rounds to all the Games venues which are facing a monkey menace.
