Sadar police station officials, who reached the site on a tip-off early in the morning called the field unit and dog squad but could find no clue till afternoon. The two men were mercilessly done to death, as was evident from their bodies which were sent for post-mortem examination, police said.

Police suspect the murders were committed because the market owner had probably recognised the gang members.
