Bangalore, Aug 26 (IANS) People’s Democratic Party head Abdul Nasir Maudany, an accused in the 2008 serial blasts in Bangalore, was Thursday sent to jail till Sep 7 by a magistrate here.
The 10-day police custody of Maudany ended Thursday and the police told the first additional chief metropolitan magistrate Venkatesh Hulagi that they have completed his interrogation in the case.
The Bangalore police, who arrested Maudany from his Kerala-based camp on Aug 17, claimed that the interrogation had established his role in the series of eight low-intensity explosions in July 2008. The blasts killed a woman and injured 15.
Maudany is one of the 32 chargesheeted in the case. He is the 31st accused. The prime accused is suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba activist T. Nasir on whose confession the PDP chief has been chargesheeted and arrested, according to Bangalore police.
