Bangalore, Sep 14 (IANS) A day after his bail plea was rejected, the judicial custody of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasir Maudany, an accused in the 2008 serial explosions in Bangalore, was Tuesday extended till Sep 28.

Maudany, arrested by Karnataka Police from Kollam in Kerala Aug 17, is now lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail, the city’s main prison.

Extending the judicial custody, which was to expire Tuesday, the first additional chief metropolitan magistrate Venkatesh Hulagi told the police to furnish a copy of the charge-sheet to Maudany.

The PDP chief is among the 32 chargesheeted for alleged involvement in the blasts that killed a woman and injured 15 in July 2008.

Maudany is the 31st accused in the case.

His bail plea was rejected by Fast Track Court judge Shrikant Watawati Monday.

The PDP chief’s appeal to the high court to quash the chargesheet has also been dismissed.
