Gurgaon, Dec 31 (IANS) “Unknown people” have been booked for abducting for ransom a meat shop owner’s two-year-old son who was later found abandoned here, police said Monday.
The boy was abducted Sunday afternoon from his house in Basai Enclave near Sector 37 and was rescued from a plot in the same sector.
“Imdad Ali’s two-year-old son had gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Later in the evening, the kidnapper called Imdad asking for paying Rs.60,000 for his safe release,” said Sector 10 police station chief Inspector Sajjan Singh.
“Imdad informed police and the phone of the kidnapper was put on surveillance. The position of caller was located in Sector 37. After making a few calls, the caller switched off the mobile phone,” he said.
Later Sunday night, the boy was traced in an abandoned room of a plot in Sector 37, he said.
Imdad owns a meat shop in Basai Enclave and lives with his family in the same area.
