New Delhi, July 21 (IANS) India’s former attorney general Milon Kumar Banerjee, who died a day earlier, was cremated here Wednesday.
His mortal remains were consigned to flames by his sons Debal and Gaurav. The cremation was attended by Chief Justice of India S.H. Kapadia, former law minister Arun Jaitely, Attorney General G.E. Vahanvati and Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium among others.
Banerjee died following a brief illness. He was attorney general, the country’s top law officer, in 1992-96 and then for a second time 2004-09.
