Police had to use force to bring the situation under control.
The youth, Billu, was found dead hanging from the ventilator of the lock-up in the Hansi police station in Hisar district late Sunday night, an official said.
While police said he committed suicide, the people accused police of torturing Billu to death and went on a rampage.
