New Delhi, Nov 14 (Inditop.com) The capital woke up to another cold and cloudy morning Saturday and weather officials said it would rain later in the day. The skies are expected to

clear up by Sunday and send the temperature plummeting.

Although the minimum temperature recorded at 8.30 a.m. Saturday was seven degrees above average – at 19 degrees Celsius- the chill was persistent.

“Cyclonic circulation over Gujarat and adjoining southwest Rajasthan is the reason for the partly cloudy skies over the northern region including Delhi,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

“However the clouds will dissipate tomorrow and the temperature is predicted to fall further,” the official added.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 24 degrees Celsius, six degrees below the average.

With the humidity at 90 percent, the met department also predicted light rain towards the evening.

“It is the first time in the past few years that Delhi has experienced rainfall during the month of November,” the official said.
