New Delhi, Aug 1 (IANS) Beginning on a hot and humid note, Monday ended up being another day when rains eluded the residents of Delhi as the maximum temperature soared to 36.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above average.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above average, said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The capital has received 202.4 mm rainfall so far this season which is 28 percent less than normal.

‘The sky will remain partly cloudy on Tuesday and there is a possibility of light rains in some parts of the capital,’ the official said.

The maximum temperature Tuesday is expected to hover around 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum is likely to remain around 29 degrees Celsius.
