Mumbai, Sep 14 (IANS) After fashion weeks and a recently concluded jewellery week, now the style icons are looking forward to a bridal week, starting Oct 29.

The five-day event, co-sponsored by VCI Hospitality Limited and to be held under the aegis of the Fashion and Design Promotion Council (FDPC), is called the Amby Valley India Bridal Week and will be held here at the Sahara Star hotel.

‘I am extremely excited about the Amby Valley India Bridal Week, which celebrates the most auspicious occasion in India – the wedding. It brings together under one roof, all the needs of a conventional or contemporary bride.

‘Bridal wear is the most profitable segment in fashion and we are aiming at tapping this segment while helping the consumer to get the most out of our talented designers,’ Vijay Singh, CMD, VCI Hospitality Ltd & secretary general FDPC told reporters here.

The bridal week will focus on wedding clothes, jewellery and accessories.

There will be 12 shows and around 15 designers including Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Neeta Lulla, Rocky S, Falguni and Shane Peacock and Ashima and Leena Singh will showcase their collections. The event will also have a consumer driven exhibition area.

‘It’s a fantastic opportunity for designers to showcase bridal wear. The market for these clothes is huge, so more the clothes are showcased, more the consumers will become aware about different styles and unique fits,’ designer Neeta Lulla told IANS.

Designer Rocky S also feels it’s a good platform.

‘With this event we can finally showcase the true essence of India,’ he said.
