New Delhi, Sep 9 (IANS) The National Defence College (NDC) here is all set to celebrate its Golden Jubilee Oct 21-23.
It will be a high-profile affair with President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh attending the event. The King of Bhutan, a country with close ties with India, will speak on the opening day.
During the three days, experts will discuss and debate changes in world politics and their impact on statecraft, nuclear deterrence in the Indian, Chinese and US contexts, coping with modern warfare, and international responses to wars in the post Cold War period.
Started in April 1960 by then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, the NDC imparts training to senior military and civilian officers from India and abroad.
