Srinagar, Feb 14 (IANS) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday expressed shock and grief at the death of two children in an explosion in Srinagar suburbs Sunday evening.
Two teenaged siblings were killed and three people critically injured when an explosive device the children unsuspectingly carried home burst in their home in Malru village, 15 km from city centre Lal Chowk.
‘God, please, please end all this death and destruction. How many more graveyards do we have to fill before someone says ENOUGH,’ Abdullah said on Twitter.
Police sources said the grenade that exploded could have been left behind by separatist guerrillas who were killed in a gun battle in the village last year.
‘It does not matter who the hell the grenade belonged to, all that matters is that 2 young lives have been snuffed out much before their time,’ Abdullah tweeted.
