Shimla, June 5 (IANS) Temperatures across Himachal Pradesh fell sharply Saturday due to widespread rains, with state capital Shimla recording a high of 24.3 degrees Celsius against Friday’s 28.3 degrees Celsius.

‘The entire state saw moderate rains Saturday with temperatures plummeting sharply,’ Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.

He said most of the prominent tourist destinations like Dharamsala, Palampur, Manali, Kasauli, Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda, Chamba and Dalhousie witnessed rainfall, bringing down temperatures to comfortable levels.

Kalpa, a picturesque town 250 km from here, recorded a maximum temperature of 20.5 degrees Celsius, down from Friday’s 22 degrees Celsius.

Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a high of 33 degrees Celsius, while it was 32.6 degrees Celsius at Dharamsala in Kangra district.
