Shimla, June 14 (IANS) Rains brought down temperatures in Himachal Pradesh Monday by three to four notches, weather officials said.
The weather department has also forecast thundershowers in the state Tuesday.
Shimla and nearby areas saw moderate rain Monday morning. ‘The entire state saw a good spell of rain, bringing the temperatures down considerably,’ Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.
Shimla recorded a maximum of 22.2 degrees Celsius as against Sunday’s high of 25.1 degrees Celsius.
Likewise, Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a high of 30.4 degrees Celsius, while it was 27 degrees Celsius at Bhuntar in Kullu district. The day temperature at Dharamsala in Kangra district stood at 29.4 degrees Celsius.
These towns Sunday recorded maximum temperatures of 33.7 degrees, 30.8 degrees and 33.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest in the state with a low of 7.6 degree Celsius, one degree below normal.
