New Delhi, May 3 (Inditop) Sunday morning brought some relief for Delhiites as there was a dip in temperature and weather officials predicted a dust storm or thunderstorm during the day.
“The dust particles suspended in the sky will prevent sunlight from reaching the earth and heating it, so there will be a fall in day temperatures over the next two days,” an official at Safdarjung Met office said.
The weather official forecast a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius Sunday and a minimum of 26 degrees. He added that there was a slight drizzle in Safdarjung area at around 10 p.m. Saturday night.
The minimum temperature recorded Sunday morning was 26.3 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal for this time of year.
The dust haze Saturday had made it stuffy, adding to the discomfort of Delhiites coping with the heat. On Friday, the capital recorded 44.2 degrees Celsius – the highest this season.
