Ranchi, Aug 28 (IANS) Seven Maoist rebels were arrested Saturday in Jharkhand’s Latehar district, police said.
‘The seven belonged to Swatantra Jan Sangharsh India Morcha (SJSIM). We seized one rifle, one pistol, seven mobile phones, live cartridges and other incriminating documents from the rebels,’ a police official told IANS.
The SJSIM is a small Maoist organisation involved in extorting money and collecting levies from businessmen and other people.
The rebels were arrested from Tetriyatand village in Latehar, which is around 140 km from Ranchi.
