Lucknow, May 29 (IANS) At least 10 human skulls and a number of bones were recovered from a dried-out pond in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah town Saturday, police said.

The skulls and bones surfaced after the pond in the Kotwali area dried up due to the heat, police said.

‘A postmortem centre is near the pond and the skulls and the bones could be of unclaimed bodies. Still it needs to be probed whether the unclaimed bodies were disposed off properly,’ district police chief R.K. Chaturvedi told reporters in Etah.

District Magistrate Balkar Singh has constituted a three-member committee to investigate the matter.
