Mumbai, Jan 23 (IANS) The Shiv Sena announced the release of three CDs to mark the 85th birthday of party chief Bal Thackeray here Sunday.

The first CD entitled ‘Bindaast Bol’ includes Thackeray’s no holds barred interviews in various publications, including party mouthpieces ‘Saamna’ (Marathi) and ‘Dopahar Ka Saamna’ (Hindi) over the past two decades.

The second CD ‘Vicharancha Sona’ comprises Thackeray’s speeches during his trademark Dussehra rallies in Mumbai practically without a break since 1989.

The next christened ‘Hinduhridaysamrat’ features articles on Thackeray written by various prominent personalities in different publications over the years.

The CDs were the brainchild of party spokespersons Shweta Parulekar and Harshal Pradhan and shall be released jointly by Thackeray and son Uddhav Sunday.

Besides, several functions have been organized to mark Thackeray’s birthday in Mumbai and other parts of the state.

On the eve of Thackeray’s birthday, Uddhav inaugurated the first of the 125 ‘Shiv Vada Pav’ stalls to be set up by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai in different parts of the city. These were allotted to various individuals and self-help groups.

The Vile Parle unit of the part will distribute fruits to 300 patients in public hospitals, hold a cricket tourney and a ‘haldi-kumkum’ for women in the area Sunday.

The Andheri unit has organized a wrestling competition in the presence of top Bhojpuri stars and Shiv Sena leaders to mark the occasion.

Other units have planned to distribute blankets to senior citizens, a kite-flying competition, honouring senior citizens, Shri Satyanarayan Puja prayers and other social functions.
