New Delhi, Feb 8 (IANS) Ten schoolchildren were injured when a speeding truck rammed into their school bus in south Delhi Tuesday, police said. The children sustained minor injuries and were discharged after first aid.

‘The incident occurred at 7.15 a.m. when the school bus of the Rao Mohar Singh School, a private educational facility, was hit by the truck, driving on the wrong side, on Khera Road near the Harbans Singh Farmhouse in Chawla area,’ said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Sharad Aggarwal.

Police said the truck bore a Rajasthan registration number.

‘The driver of the overloaded truck fled the spot immediately after the collision,’ Aggarwal said.

The injured children were rushed to an adjacent private hospital and discharged after being administered first aid while the truck was seized.

‘We have launched a manhunt for the driver,’ Aggarwal added.
