New Delhi, Jun 27 (IANS) Three people were injured in Delhi Sunday after a drunk man opened fire at them after a scuffle when they prevented him from entering the building where his sister-in-law lived, police said.
‘A drunk man identified as Kanta Prasad, employed with the Delhi Jal Board, reportedly opened fire on three people – Ram Babu, 28, Rishal, 24, and Badri, 32 – who prevented him from entering a building on G.B.Road and allegedly beat him up,’ a senior police official told IANS.
The three worked as guards and helpers at the building.
‘Prasad then pulled out his licensed revolver and opened fire at them, injuring all the three,’ the official said.
The injured were taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) hospital. Prasad was also admitted to the hospital.
Prasad hails from Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh and his gun license was also issued there.
Police have registered a case under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Arms Act against him.
