New Delhi, Aug 1 (IANS) Two bookies were arrested here for betting over the India-England cricket Test match, police said Monday.

‘Amarjeet Singh, 45, and Ajay Kumar, 37, were arrested from Subhash Nagar in West Delhi Sunday following a tip-off,’ said a senior police officer adding that they had made bets worth Rs.50 lakh before their arrest.

Police said the bookies told that they were gambling for many years.

They were arrested from the residence of Singh’s friend — Bipin Malhotra. ‘We are trying find Malhotra’s role the crime,’ said the officer.
