Ranchi, Aug 5 (IANS) Two Maoist rebels Thursday surrendered before the Jharkhand police chief and will be rehabilitated under the state’s surrender policy, a police official said.
The two Maoists who surrendered before Jharkhand police chief Neyaz Ahmad are Marshal Tuti and Suresh Munda. They surrendered with one carbine and one rifle.
Marshal Tuti was area commander of the banned outlawed group Communist Party of India- Maoist (CPI-Maoist) while Suresh Munda was arms squad member of the outfit. Both face more than 13 criminal cases.
Each of them was given Rs.50,000 cash as per the surrender policy. They will be provided more money after release from jail.
Five Maoist rebels have surrendered in Jharkhand in the last one month.
