Shimla, May 31 (IANS) The hills of Himachal Pradesh continued to sizzle Monday with Una town in the state registering a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, the weather office said.
‘Most of the towns Monday recorded maximum temperatures of three to five notches above normal. Una town was the hottest place in the state as it recorded a high of 42 degrees Celsius,’ Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office in Shimla, told IANS.
He said Shimla’s maximum temperature was four notches above average at 28.4 degrees Celsius. The night temperature was 17.3 degrees.
The maximum temperature in Sundernagar of Mandi district was 37.8 degrees, in Bhuntar in Kullu district it was 34.8 degrees and in Kalpa in Kinnaur district it was 23.4 degrees.
The met department said the weather would largely remain dry Tuesday.
