New Delhi Jan 25 (IANS) A 25-year-old woman was burnt to death while 14 people were critically injured when a major fire broke out in a cloth factory in south Delhi Tuesday evening, police and fire brigade officials said.
The fire started at 5 p.m. on the top floor of a four-storey building in Tughlakabad Extension area when a press boiler exploded, a fire official said.
‘One woman died due to 95 percent burn injuries while 14 others are injured and were admitted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital, Safdarjung Hospital and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS),’ a police officer said.
Around 25 people were working in the factory when the blaze broke out.
‘Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took around one hour to douse the flames. Four women, one girl and nine men suffered burn injuries,’ the fire brigade officer said.
