New Delhi, Dec 22 (IANS) A woman and a man she was having an extra-marital affair with were arrested here Wednesday for murdering her husband, police said.
‘Renu, 28, and Raju, 23, were arrested for murdering her husband Shankar,’ Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) Meenu Choudhury said.
Both were arrested from the Wazirpur area of north Delhi.
Renu filed a complaint Tuesday that her husband was missing since Monday when he went to Azadpur market, Choudhury said.
‘While we were investigating the matter, Shankar’s father Bhola Shah told us that he suspected Renu,’ she added.
Renu later confessed about her relations with her neighbour Raju, who was also Shankar’s colleague.
‘As their relations became public, Shankar shifted from Wazirpur Industrial Area to Mukandpur about three months back. But Raju and Renu remained in touch there also,’ Choudhury said.
Shankar was shot dead by Raju Monday while he was on his way to meet the latter’s family. He dumped the body in a field near Barota Akbarpur in Sonepat.
Renu and Shankar were married for 13 years and have three children.
