Islamabad, March 31 (Inditop.com) Twenty terrorists were killed and 30 injured when Pakistani security forces repulsed an attack on their check post in the restive tribal region in the country’s northwest bordering Afghanistan, the military said Wednesday.
“A group of 80-100 heavily armed terrorists, with explosive-laden vehicles, attacked a security forces check post at Jansi in the Khyber Agency Tuesday night but the security forces repulsed the attack,” an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.
“Security forces effectively responded and repulsed the attack. During the exchange of fire with security forces, about 20 terrorists were killed and more than 30 were injured,” the statement added.
Six security forces personnel were killed and 15 injured in the attack, the statement said.
Several militant groups, including the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, are active in the Khyber Agency.
