Islamabad, Aug 8 (Inditop.com) Pakistani militants have formed two groups to free their comrades from various prisons in the country, a media report said.
The two groups named Lashkar Omar and Lashkar Abu Jandal will devise strategies to free their associates who were captured during the military operation in northwest Pakistan, the Online news agency reported Friday. There are also suicide bombers in the groups.
The report citing intelligence agency sources said 18 militant commanders of a banned organisation have recently held a meeting in one of the cities in Punjab province to discuss the plan.
It was decided at the meeting that the militants would first locate the places where their partners are kept, before launching an attack to free them.
Intelligence officials said the militants are planning major attacks in the country.
Meanwhile, the government has issued directives to the law enforcement agencies to remain alert in view of the threats posed by the militants.
