Islamabad, April 16 (Inditop.com) Eight people, including a TV channel cameraman and a senior police official, were killed and 35 wounded Friday when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a hospital in Pakistan’s Quetta city.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Investigations) Qazi Abdul Wahid said it was a suicide blast at the Civil Hospital on Jinnah Road.

The suicide bomber struck when a crowd gathered at the hospital on learning that bank official Arshad Zaidi was shot at near Mannan Chowk. Zaidi, who was brought to the Civil Hospital, succumbed to the gunshot injuries, Geo TV reported.

The deafening explosion killed eight people. The dead include Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Zahir Shah Kazmi and TV channel cameraman Malik Arif.

There was panic in the crowded hospital after the deafening explosion. The doctors at the hospital rushed to help the wounded who were crying out in pain. The blast damaged the hospital.
