New Delhi, Feb 27 (Inditop.com) Nearly 450,000 students studying in classes 10 and 12 here will appear for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams beginning next week.

According to the CBSE, 247,291 students will appear for the Class 10 board exams, an increase of 6.32 percent over 2009.

Similarly, 199,951 students will give their Class 12 exams, an increase of 9.28 percent over last year.

Of the total Class 10 students in Delhi, 150,362 are from government and government-aided schools. This figure is nearly 11.6 percent more than the number of students who gave their boards from such schools last year. This means an increasing number of students in the capital are studying in government and government-aided schools.

Likewise, there are 113,665 students from government and government-aided schools who will appear for the Class 12 board examinations in the city.

Overall, some 1.6 million students will sit for the CBSE’s Class 10 and 12 examinations starting March 3 at over 5,500 centres spread across the country and abroad.
