New Delhi, Sep 5 (Inditop.com) Italy’s leading menswear brand Canali has launched its Nawab collection inspired by the Indian royalty, a line of clothes that will make you feel like a king, the firm hopes.
“It is our interpretation of India’s maharaja era. This collection has kept a balance between usual designing values of Canali and our quality measures with Indian touch to pay a tribute to rich Indian culture,” Canali’s marketing director Paolo Canali told Inditop here.
“Indian heritage is so rich that you can come up with a collection that will fascinate the world. We have been keeping an open eye on the local designs of the other countries as well but everything has failed to impress us. This Indian-inspired bandgala collection is likely to be proposed for other international cities as well,” he added.
The 75-year-old brand Canali was introduced in India in 2004 by Genesis Luxury, the holding company of several international brands, and has five stores in the country – two in Delhi and one each in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Talking about expansion plans in India, Paolo said: “We are taking gradual steps. We are very satisfied with the feedback of Indian consumers. When we entered the Indian market, we hadn’t expected it (market) to open up suddenly for us. But slowly we have created a name for our products.
“Ever since we came to India, we have focussed on maintaining a class and quality of our service. For that we make sure that the place we choose to retail our products has to be good. On that we don’t compromise at all. This has helped in building trust with our consumers.”
Paolo also revealed that their sixth store in India will be in Ludhiana.
Canali’s collection available in India is manufactured in Italy.
“Ever since we launched in India, we have been treating this as a very special market and I feel India and Italy have much in common when it comes to style,” he added.
The Nawab collection has a mix of linen, silk and wool and is available in shades of beige, tussar and brown.
From Nawab’s collection, a full suit is priced at Rs.75,000, a velvet jacket at Rs.59,000 and suits in silk, linen and wool blend at Rs.63,000.
