New Delhi, July 3 (IANS) Delhi Police on Friday claimed to have solved 10 cases of robberies following the arrest of six members of a ‘Mordabadi gang’ that allegedly also robbed people in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.

Taufiq, 30, Nadeem, 36, Zahid, 30, Faisal, 41, Tasleem, 36, and Naeem, 27 — the alleged members of ‘Moradabadi gang’ — were taken into custody on June 26 in Delhi near Shahdara where they had allegedly gathered to commit another robbery, police said.
“Their arrest led us to solve at least 10 cases of robberies committed by them in different areas of Delhi,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav.
“They would commit robberies while moving from one city to another in quick succession. The route they usually took was from Moradabad to Ghaziabad and further towards Delhi, Ambala, Khanna, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. They came back via the same route,” Yadav said.
The gang used motorbikes and country-made pistols during the robberies.
“Three motorcycles, one bicycle, one country-made pistol of .315 bore and four live cartridges were recovered from them,” the official said.
