Kolkata, June 8 (IANS) The West Bengal government will soon recruit 46,000 teachers for primary schools across the state, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced Wednesday.

‘We have decided to recruit 46,000 teachers in primary schools in Bengal. The finance department has also endorsed the proposal and the teachers will be recruited at the earliest,’ Banerjee told journalists after a cabinet meeting at the state secretariat Writers’ Buildings.

‘Out of 46,000 posts, 10 percent will be reserved for part-time teachers, Madhyamik Siksha Kendra (MSK) and Sishu Siksha Kendra (SSK) teachers and Primary Teachers Training Institute (PTTI) students,’ she said.
