New Delhi, Oct 15 (Inditop.com) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday selected 14 candidates for the Nov 7 assembly bye-elections in seven states.
The party’s central election committee cleared the list of candidates for eight assembly constituencies in West Bengal, three assembly constituencies in Kerala and one each in Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Himachal Pradesh.
“The meeting chaired by party president Rajnath Singh was attended by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L.K. Advani, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and all the members of the Central Election Committee of the BJP,” said a party release here.
By-elections to 31 assembly seats in seven states as well as Firozabad Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh will be held Nov 7.
Counting of votes would be held Nov 10.
